I became seriously interested in photography way back in 1980 following an afternoon spent in the company of a friend who showed me the fun that could be had with Cokin filters! I returned home and relayed my enjoyment to my Dad. He left the room and eventually came back holding his old and dusty Zenit E which he duly handed to me. I was off to the camera shop the very next day to buy my own filters and a very small camera bag. Sadly the extensive use that the camera had over the next few weeks did it no good at all and it soon gave up the ghost.
From there I moved on to a Yashica FX-D and then for a small while, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 bridge camera. Eventually in 2010 I moved to a Canon 550D where my interest had by then become an absolute passion. I currently use a Canon 80D.
I love all aspects of photography be it portrait, wildlife or sports but I especially enjoy the buzz and challenge of photographing at music concerts and festivals. The continuing change of lighting and movement is definitely a test and combining my two main interests in life is just a real treat.
I've also experienced wedding photography a few times which I must say can be a bit scary but drives the adrenaline pumping that's for sure!
